Join Southside Baptist Church

Toward the end of our service you are invited to become a member of our fellowship.  Please come to the front of the auditorium during the singing of the hymn of invitation.  The pastor will be standing there to welcome you. There are three ways we receive members.

By Baptism:  If you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins and want to turn from your sins the best you can and follow Jesus' teachings, the  church will receive you as a candidate for baptism.

By Letter:  If you are a Baptist and have been baptized by immersion in another church which believes as we do.  (Baptism is for believers and is a testimony done in obedience to Christ.  It symbolizes the death and burial of self and being raised to walk in a newness of life with Him.)   That it is not for salvation, but is a step of obedience to Christ command.  If you wish to join our church and will happily and cooperatively work through Southside for the cause of Christ, then the church will accept you as a member by receiving a letter of certification from your former church.

By Statement: A person may join our church by personal statement of prior profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and believer's baptism by immersion.  We would suggest a personal meeting with the pastor to discuss this option or any other special needs.
