Student & Education Minister
Andy Schelb is the newest member of our
staff. He joined us in February 2009 from Memphis, Tennessee. Andy grew up in Lutz,
Florida and earned his Bachelors degree in Communication from the University of South Florida in 2005.
He then moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he continued his education at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary
and earned his Masters
of Divinity degree.
Andy accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 6 years old. In 8th grade he began to
feel that God was leading him to serve in the ministry. During college he was given
the opportunity to serve as an intern in the Middle
School Ministry of Idlewild
Baptist Church. During that time God gave him a passion for seeing students
build a biblical foundation for their lives.
While at Seminary he served at Germantown
Baptist Church in the student and college ministry. It was serving at GBC he
met his wife Rachel. Andy met Rachel at a Disciple Now
weekend. It was her heart for girls and passion for girls ministry that really
attracted him to her. They were married in September 2008. Andy and Rachel are thrilled
that God has brought them to Southside.
Worship Leader
Tim
Green has served Southside since March, 2003. Tim is a graduate from
Southeastern
Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama. He received his B.A. in Music and Education
with an emphasis in Bible Teaching. Tim then went to Mid America Baptist Theological
Seminary and received an M.A. in Religious Education.
Tim received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 5 and answered the call to the ministry at the age of 17 while still in high school. Tim met his wife Tonya just a few years ago and has been blessed to have her with him in the ministry. Tim and Tonya are excited that God has brought them to Southside. They look forward to what God is going to do.
